WHY BUY OXYTETRACYCLINE ANTIBIOTIC FOR GOATS
Does your cattle, goat, or sheep have severe pneumonia? Do they also show clinical symptoms of colibacillosis infection, bacterial enteritis (scouring), necrotic pododermatitis (foot rot), calf diphtheria (necrobacillosis), wooden tongue among cattle? Do they have wound infection or metritis? Did they encounter a traumatic injury? Administer oxytetracycline antibiotic if these questions describe the situation of your ruminants.
However, here at the Alpha Agventure Farms, we do not administer oxytetracycline antibiotic to gestating ruminants (to avoid congenital defects to their fetus), including the lactating ones whose milk we harvest for human consumption.
We also advocate the moderate use of oxytetracycline antibiotic to avoid possible side effects to ruminants such as gastrointestinal disturbances, reduced appetite, allergic reactions, photosensitivity, and reduced efficacy.
For this reason, prevention is better than cure. Keep your ruminants healthy by improving the palatability of their fermented corn silage or drinking water with pure blackstrap molasses. Hanging Himalayan salt licks or mineral blocks will help. Plus, administer Vitamin B-Complex, Vitamin ADE, Iron Dextran, and DCM on a monthly basis.
